I'd need some more details in order to make an educated guess. How did you "fix" the jam?

Well, that depends on your individual setup, but you certainly don't have to mark the strips. Essentially, you want to get the strips into the reel tins but hold off on crimping the tins so that you can still move the strips around inside of the tins. Once your machine is reassembled, set the reels so that a jackpot condition lines up on the payout disks and let the machine finish its cycle so that the payout fingers engage the disks. Then, move the reel strips in the individual tins until the correct symbols line up on the payout line. When everything looks right, crimp each reel tin in a couple of spots so that the strips are held securely in place. Note that you do NOT have to crimp the tins all of the way around... just a couple of crimps will do the job and make it easier to swap out the reel strips in the future.

Make sense?

Thanks Slotter.......taking apart the reel bundle is pretty straightforward as you well know. This slot is a repro Golden Nugget.....and the guts are no frills but I think everything is there that's supposed to be. I'll just keep plugging away and I might stumble upon a fix for my problem(s). Thanks for all you do. Barry

That doesn't sound right at all. If your reels are not spinning in conjunction with the corresponding payout disks, your machine is never going to payout correctly (if at all.) I haven't gotten around to photographing the disassembly of the reel bundle yet, but will be doing so in the future.

Hi....Slotter, it's me again. In backtracking and reviewing this page......I've got my reel out of the mech and have cleaned and oiled it. You mention that turning the left most reel will make the right most wheel turn.....However, when I hold the axle near the payout discs.... and spin the left reel, the only thing that turns with the left reel is the axle that I'm holding in my hand. The middle reel and right reel (the one closest to the payoff discs) spin independently.
